A rib-cage nest provides a home and an emotional anchor. This figure travels through time and and place, borrowing elements that are ancient, formal, cultural-- evoking the scientific curiosity of another era.

Silk velvet (that shimmers from dark green to burgundy red), distressed clay, mosses, dried grass, eggs, wood, paint, feathers. Wood box with drawers.

 

Two drawers opens to reveal ephemera.

Top: Map drawer liner with blank film strips and antique perfume atomizer.

Bottom: Drawer liner of butterflies and moths; bottle with cotton ball, bottle with liquid, small gold funnel, specimen pins.
