The vulnerability of an egg; the impermanence of a nest. An attempt to define the confluence of nature and humanity.

Fabric, wood, painted egg, twigs, moss, fungi,  paint, polyester fill. Wood box with drawers.

 

Two drawers open to reveal ephemera-- the unrelated detritus in a "junk drawer" that reveals an unknowable personal story-- a repository of memories. 

Top drawer: Star chart with mythic constellation drawer liner with string of broken pearls, dried rose petals, thimble.

Bottom drawer: Ribbon, keys, marble, and vial of volcanic dust.
